Test Prep!

Here we are again with another day of tests! Poor guy is in a ton of pain from his biopsy & then they won't let him have his multiple cups of coffee or any food this morning. I know he's back there starving. However, he can't eat until around noon when the test is over. He's having a PET (Positron Emission Testing) Scan. He has to consume glucose and then he gets a radioactive injection. After that sits for a little bit they scan his body. Cancer cells feed on sugar. So, this test will show us where all of his tumors are. As of now, there are nodes that have been identified, but we are not sure which ones are actually tumors. This is the final step in staging the cancer. Praise Jesus!

From what we've learned, it seems that something must have happened yesterday that was abnormal for him to have this pain. He said that it reminds him of when he broke his tailbone. The right side is fine, but the left side (the one in the Javorski Lane conversation) is giving him fits. The other big problem, he's not allowed to shower for 48 hours! Ben, the man that would shower every eight if he could, can't get the spot wet until Friday night. So, for those of you at the prayer time on Friday, you will probably get a newly showered Ben!! Other than the pain in the left hip/back, he's doing very well! I'm so impressed.

We were so blessed last night. We went to PF Changs to see our friend, Craig, who is a manager. We also met up with our sweet friends, Rob & Angie & their girls, Abby & Sophie! We had so much fun just hanging with them. Abby colored a picture for Ben. Abby has also been praying for Ben since about 10 minutes after we found out he had cancer. She was scared to hug Ben last night b/c she didn't want to hurt him. However, I got all of the hugs that she had stored up for him. So fun! We thanked her for helping Ben to get better by praying. She leaned over during the meal and asked me if Ben felt better. I told her, "Yes, because of your sweet prayers to Jesus for Ben." She smiled super big and lept at me with a big hug! As Ben said, "If this little girl recognizes the power of prayer and spending time talking to Jesus because of this, cancer is worth it!" Craig also covered our meal...so sweet! Well, the best part was actually the flourless dome cake milkshake that Craig had made for us! Yummy!!!

Ben is done with his scan and so I'll close for now.

Prayers:
*All lab results are ready in time for the appt. we have scheduled with the doctor tomorrow. If they are ready, we can get the treatment plan, get back to Dallas, and get treatment started quickly. If they're not ready, we will have to come back on the 3rd of October and chemo won't start until mid-October. So, the timing of the results are important!! Pray! Pray! Pray!
*Pray for the pain Ben is experiencing! Our friend, Sarah, that we are staying with says the biopsy is the worst part of all that he has to do...so, if this is it GREAT. However, I don't want my husband to be in pain!

We are praying for you guys, for Ben's pain to be minimal, for all test results to come in as soon as possible and for your safety while you travel.
